Aquatics systems

In recent years, the scientific community involved in research on laboratory animals has increasingly focused on research in aquatic environments, specifically using the tropical fish species zebrafish (danio rerio).

Research has shown multiple advantages regarding the physiology, genetics, anatomy, and behavior of these specific fish in various fields of study: genetic studies, phenotypic and genotypic identification/characterization and control, as well as toxicological testing. Some of these advantages are:

Rapid embryo development (24h)

Embryo development regardless of parental presence

Large production of offspring (eggs)

The embryos are transparent, allowing the monitoring of the development of various internal organs such as the heart, the brain, etc.

The Aquatics systems, designed for the housing of fish and amphibians, ensure ideal living conditions for the animals and simultaneously ideal "laboratory" conditions within the system, as they operate with continuous water changes in the aquatic environment of the tanks and continuous monitoring of its parameters (pH, conductivity, temperature) through special sensors. In this way, a stable environment can be achieved based on the simulation of the natural environment of fish and amphibians within laboratory settings.
